Condenser directional microphone for camera mounting

The 18 cm long VideoMic GO is an easy-to-use mono-camera microphone, which allows you to significantly enhance the sound quality of the video sound. It is quickly pushed onto the camera's accessory shoe, connected to the accompanying spiral cable, and then immediately ready for use-no switches, no settings, no battery, and with 73 g pleasantly light!

Thanks to the red Rycote double "Lyre", a special thermoplast swing bracket, the VideoMic GO is optimally decoupled from the camera. Body sound or In this way, handle noises cannot pass to the sensitive 1/2 " capacitor capsule of the microphone. If you want to, the VideoMic Go can also be operated from the camera on a tripod, a handle or a sound angel, in the base of the mount a 3/8 " thread is let in for this purpose. You only need the RØDE SC8, a 6 m long connection cable.

Important: The power supply of the VideoMic GO takes over the connected camera. This so-called "Plugin-Power" (approx. 4 V) is also provided by most DSLR cameras at the microphone input, but not by all. For connection to the camera, the TRS output socket of the microphone is connected via the enclosed spiral cable with the microphone input of the camera. Tip ("T") and ring ("R") the connector leads the exact same signal, so that the camera records in double-mono and the sound comes exactly from the centre when playing the video.

The Superrenal capsule of the VideoMic GO has a relatively narrow opponent angle of approx. 45 °. When you open your two hands forward at half a right angle, you can see well what sound sources are located within the recording area and thus be recorded as a priority. As a mono-directional microphone, the VideoMic GO is generally recommended for voice recordings, as well as for any other type of sound source, which is located directly in front of a-that is, on the axis in the image section. Especially for close-up shots, this is ideal: laterally incident sound from sources that cannot be seen in the picture is largely ignored.

The VideoMic GO is included. pre-assembled foam windscreen and a short TRS spiral cable (SC2). It is manufactured at RØDE in Australia. For outdoor shooting, it is recommended to purchase the optional Fellwindshield "DeadCat GO".
